3rd Singapore International Wushu Competition - 2013

If we take a walk down memory lane, a scene flashes on the screen of our mind and reminds that in ancient time the science of archery and freestyle combat were the arts of fighting. Time flew, years rolled into centuries and modern techniques replaced the obsolete systems for self defense.

In the contemporary era the science of Martial Arts is the high-flying technique to keep the body fit, not fat for self defense. At the onset of the pleasant winter when the rains said parting goodbye to the incoming season, the third Singapore International Wushu Competition was held at Singapore from 6th December’13 and it was lasted up to 9th December’13. The great Martial Arts warriors who never keep chinks in their armor assembled and flexed their muscles to exhibit their latent talents. It seemed as if a galaxy of shining stars descended on this terrestrial land.

The Indian National Wushu Kung Fu team of the Wushu Kungfu Federation of India led by the connoisseurs of this art had participated and won many accolades. Master Vijay Zarekar from Maharashtra State Won Gold Medal, Mr Bharat Kanojiya from Ahmedabad, Gujarat won Silver Medal in Sanda, Doctor Basumatary from Kokrajhar, Bodoland won Silver Medal and Mr. Sanjog Nakrani from Bhuj, Gujarat, won Bronze Medal in Sanda. Thus, they added more feathers in their caps and never rest on their laurel. It was the matter of great honor that Dr Gajanand Rajput who ushered the team was appointed as one of the judges to select the winners.

Dr. Raju Newar Ph.D from Assam, Mr. Mavjibhai Patel (President of Akhil Bhartiya Kutch, Kadwa Patidar Yuva Sangh) from Nasik, Mr. Prakash Mavani Patel (Vice President of Akhil Bhartiya Kutch, Kadwa Patidar Yuva Sangh) from Mumbai and Mr. Gajanand Rajput also shared the honor of receiving Wushu KungFu service awards. Shri Gaurang Dhanani, former president, ABKKP Yuva Sangh expressed his best wishes for attaining the height of success and fame.

It’s a matter of surprise that these enthusiasts who began their career of Martial Arts from grassroots climbed the stairs within short span of time. The federation gave them the wings and they now fly high to achieve the pinnacle of success.

Let such contests come over and over again to spread the fragrance of these Arts for the betterment of society and nation.
